Underwent a post-race Veterinary examination at the request of connections which revealed the gelding to have a minor laceration to the right hind fetlock which has been treated. HAZER - attempted to shift off the back of a weakening runner leaving the back straight and trailed the sulky wheel for a distance which resulted in a trailing runner being placed in restricted room near the 500m. Driver B Williamson was warned for half carting. Hampered by a weakening runner rounding the final bend and then hung outwards in the run home with Mr Williamson confirming when questioned that he did not release the removable deafeners as a consequence.

NO ADDED SUGAR - raced wider on the track near the 1400m when JENNY GUMP shifted ground outwards. After viewing replays, it was established that driver S Walkinshaw (JENNY GUMP) had commenced his outwards movement prior to NO ADDED SUGAR reaching his sulky wheel, accordingly no further action was required. Placed in restricted room by an inside runner rounding the final bend and breaking near the 300m then locked sulky wheels with HAZER leaving the final bend and losing all chance.

Driver J Morrison admitted a charge under Rule 869(3)(b) that he drove carelessly in this incident. After viewing replays and considering submissions on penalty the Adjudicative Committee suspended Mr Morrison's driver's licence from the conclusion of racing on 28 October until the conclusion of racing on 04 November 2024, 4 days and imposed a fine of $300.

A post-race veterinary examination revealed DARE DEVIL had suffered an atrial fibrillation. Stood down pending a veterinary clearance including the results of an ECG before completing one trial to the satisfaction of Stewards prior to resuming.
